On this World Humanitarian Day, more than ever, humanitarian action must be protected, so that all people living in crisis situations have access to quality health care.
More than 5 years after the adoption of the Resolution 2286 by the UN Security Council, health workers are still threatened and attacked in conflict zones, even though they are essential to provide access to health care for populations and to fight against the Covid19 pandemic.
In Syria, Yemen, the DRC and more recently in Ethiopia, aid workers continue to be targeted despite the commitments of the international community.
This is why Médecins du Monde has made the protection of #humanitarian and #health staff one of its priorities, both on the field and in the political arena.
Reducing humanitarian space is not an option! Let’s mobilise.💪 💪 💪
